Change is coming to Blair Photography

Change is a good thing… and change is coming to my pricing structure. Due to changes in my personal life, I will be changing how many photography assignments I accept each year. With that being said, as of February 18, 2019 new prices will be put in place. At that time, previous price lists will be null and void.

So if you have been looking at booking me for your wedding or portrait session, now is the time to go ahead and get it taken care of. Give me a call at 870-404-9241 and we can get you on the calendar.

Also, I will be discontinuing the phone number 870-425-7671 and you will only be able to contact my phone by using the 870-404-9241 number.

Quincie & Skyler.. a June farm wedding

You never know what a wedding day will have in store for you. There are a few things you can count on… it will be hectic… most things don’t happen exactly at the planned time… and most importantly, two people who are in love will get married.  (I’ve actually had one where they weren’t legally married until the next Monday because they forgot a marriage license)  This wedding, however, pretty much ran on schedule, nobody was really keyed up … and of course, two people, madly in love, got married.

Quincie and Skyler were married on her family’s land in Southern Missouri, under an old oak tree. Personally, I think it was the perfect setting. Gorgeous blue skies and HOT temps set in as the clouds and sprinkles cleared out.  The result… I was soaked in sweat for the rest of the day.  Pretty typical for a summer wedding in the south. Quincie, on the other hand, looked absolutely radiant for the entire day. This girl is as beautiful on the outside as she is on the inside.  What a joy to photograph.

Skyler and his groomsmen handled the heat like champs.  They were all dressed to the nines and in my memory, I don’t recall any of them complaining too much about the heat. What I do recall, vividly, is the friendship and love they were not afraid to display as they stood by Skyler’s side.  That was pretty awesome.

Then there’s the barn.  The barn made the perfect backdrop for the reception.  Lights strung, decorations placed and the natural aged appearance of the barn gave me plenty of opportunities to find great shots. This is a photographer’s dream.

Anyway, I posted their wedding on my Facebook page right after it took place, but wanted to make sure that while catching up on the backlog of weddings for the blog, everyone got a chance to have a glimpse of their wedding day.

Enjoy!

Mr. & Mrs. Roberts, the unabridged version.

Often times I  worry that I post too many photos… or that I’m too wordy. Actually, that’s a lie. I don’t worry too much about it, because I’m just that kind of person.  I’m wordy and I’m proud of it.  So I hope you enjoy this look at Bryan’s and Makalya’s wedding day.

I’ve already posted a sneak preview of the wedding, but felt their beautiful day was worthy of more. I don’t photograph a lot of weddings here in Mountain Home, but always love it when the chance is presented. Getting to work with people I know is special.

This wedding was one where I really felt as if I’d been given a seat of honor where I could be part of their most intimate lives. I was witness to their love, their faith and their happiness. …. oh, and the guy’s cool socks.

I cannot wait to show Bryan, Makayla and their families the entire collection of photos.

Enjoy!  BTW, the kids in this wedding … may have stolen the show.  They were so adorable.

Melissa & Luke… engaged in Conway

I’ve known Melissa for a big part of her life, growing up here in Mountain Home, so when I got the call, asking about being her wedding photographer, I was happy, to say the least.  She is one of those people who makes others around her happy.  She’s genuinely happy and loves to spread that happiness.  Meeting Luke for the first time when I arrived to do their engagement photos, I could tell that they were a good match for one another.  So since I’ve just restarted the blog, I wanted to share some of their photos… especially for those who haven’t followed my Facebook page.

The day started out in a pretty classic, “grandma will like these pictures”, kind of way and then it turned.  Not a bad turn, but rather an incredibly fun turn. So enjoy the madness that was their engagement photos.

A June wedding with Jillian & Eric

I’m still catching up, and I am so excited to introduce you all to Jillian and Eric. When I met them in Springfield, at Sequiota Park in Springfield, MO to shoot their engagement session, they both seemed so shy and quiet.  Well, maybe reserved is a better descriptor for what they appeared to be.  Ladies and Gentlemen, I was wrong.  These two have personalities that are HUGE! Their energy level is insane and their love of one another is obvious. I honestly had no idea how much fun was in store for their wedding day.

One of the great things about photographing weddings in the Springfield area is working with Stephanie Weiss, of Ella Weiss Wedding Design.  She is one of my favorite wedding planners on the planet.  If you’re in the area, I’d recommend looking into Ella Weiss Wedding Design for gowns and all your needs.

So let’s get to Jillian and Eric… their taste and style are on point. They are not afraid of the camera. They are open and loving. They welcomed me into their day with unfiltered access to their lives. In short, they are a dream couple who values great photos and know that being themselves allows me to put together a complete story of their wedding day.

The reception was jumping from start to finish. Guests were greeted with a cocktail hour outside the main ballroom, and entertained with live music while they mingled about.  Once inside, the decorations … from table settings, impressive cake, amazing lighting to the huge dance floor… made this a spectacular event to be part of.

Earlier I mentioned the energy level and the reception is where their energy level was unleashed. Members Only, an 80s tribute band was on stage and kept the entire group jumping. Favorite song of the night????  When they sang “Centerfold”, by the J. Geils Band, and Jillian joined them on stage.  Absolutely killed it.

Enjoy a few of their photos!

Allie & Corey… not sure I’m ready for this.

As a photographer, planning an outdoor photo session, I always know I’m at the mercy of the weather… and often, the weather seems to work against me. Allie and I had already rescheduled a couple of different times due to rain and this day was really one we weren’t sure about, but the weatherman said Jonesboro was in the clear. I gathered my equipment and started my two and a half hour drive to meet them for their engagement photos on a beautiful and sunny afternoon.  By the time I made it to Jonesboro, I couldn’t see to drive. I had to pull over and wait it out. Buckets. Maybe more than buckets.  There were barrels of rain falling. Some streets were flooding and enough lightning that it was honestly a bit scary at times. Finally I made it to downtown Jonesboro where we were going to meet up and it was still raining, so we all sat in our vehicles and waited.  And waited.  And then when we were tired of waiting, we waited some more. To be truthful, I was feeling a bit discouraged.

Then the rain stopped and we discussed our options. Things were soaked and standing water was abundant, so posing was going to be a bit of a challenge, as using the grassy areas was ruled out.  We got a game plan and headed out.  This is where my day turned around and things got AWESOME!

I’ve photographed, literally hundreds of couples, but none quite like this couple. To say they have a sense of humor is possibly the biggest understatement I could make. These two are… and I say this with all the love I can possibly muster… nothing less than the most loveable and funny dorks you’ll ever meet. Somehow in the midst of their having fun, we managed to get some seriously badass engagement photos that show their personalities to perfection.

My face hurt for the entire drive home, because I couldn’t stop smiling. Needless to say, I am so ready for their wedding in Memphis, later this month. I’m already anticipating how amazing their photos will be… and how much I’ll be smiling.

Included in this gallery are some that I probably shouldn’t show off, but I am going to anyway. I love couples who are not afraid to truly be themselves and there are a couple of the photos I’m sharing that are simply a result of us laughing and them seeing how weird things could get. Enjoy!
