You may recall the engagement session I put up a few weeks back with Corey and Allie (click their name to see the post) and how much I rambled on about loving this couple. Well, it’s still true. They’re my kind of dorks. They’re madly in love. They’re deeply devoted. They’re humble, kind, giving and gracious. In short… I really dig them.
I drove to Memphis, TN a couple weeks ago to spend an afternoon with them at their church on the edge of town. I honestly had no idea what to expect when I pulled up, because in all honesty, it’s not what I traditionally think of when I hear the word… church. Regardless, inside was super cool and even more importantly, it was filled with friends and family who love to praise and were there to celebrate the joining of two amazing people. And I got to be witness to it all. That fact is always something that keeps me in awe.
So enjoy a brief glimpse into their wedding day. I’d pack up and go shoot this one all over again.
Becca and her family hold a special place in the hearts of the Blair family. Becca’s mom has played a role in my daughter-in-law’s life that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to adequately appreciate. Needless to say, she’s an angel… and so is Becca. Oh, and we had my son’s wedding at Becca’s family’s home. So there are plenty of reasons for me to love this couple and this wedding.
Matt and Becca are both HUGE fans of Disney, which you will see in their photos. Beyond that, they are unique, quirky, funny, smart and loving people who had the perfect wedding on a lovely Tuesday afternoon in Northwest Arkansas.
In my career as a wedding photographer I’ve had a couple of .. coming back down the aisle shots… that are truly memorable. This is one of those. I love when my couples are not afraid to have fun.
Often times I worry that I post too many photos… or that I’m too wordy. Actually, that’s a lie. I don’t worry too much about it, because I’m just that kind of person. I’m wordy and I’m proud of it. So I hope you enjoy this look at Bryan’s and Makalya’s wedding day.
I’ve already posted a sneak preview of the wedding, but felt their beautiful day was worthy of more. I don’t photograph a lot of weddings here in Mountain Home, but always love it when the chance is presented. Getting to work with people I know is special.
This wedding was one where I really felt as if I’d been given a seat of honor where I could be part of their most intimate lives. I was witness to their love, their faith and their happiness. …. oh, and the guy’s cool socks.
I cannot wait to show Bryan, Makayla and their families the entire collection of photos.
Enjoy! BTW, the kids in this wedding … may have stolen the show. They were so adorable.
Some weddings have a more personal connection than others. This one felt very connected. Brandon, the groom, had been one of the band instructors that my kids had studied under in school… and his step-dad and I worked together back when I was a paramedic. So you can only imagine how happy I was when I got a call, inquiring about their date.
Courtney has to be one of the funniest women I’ve ever worked with, and after meeting the other women in her family (as you can see in one of their “posed” photos) this is a trait they all share.
When you add up these two amazing people, their lovely family & friends, and such a beautiful venue in Hot Springs, AR, you end up with a day that is magical.
June weddings are one of my favorite things in life… with the exception of you never really know what the weather will be. When Terra and Randy were married, near Rogers, Arkansas, the weather was… STEAMY. So hot, in fact, that I am pretty sure the preacher was just winging it, as he couldn’t see anything for the sweat in his eyes.
Regardless of the weather, however, this was such a beautiful event and I will forever be honored that I got to be part of it. Terra’s little boy and Randy’s son were included in the ceremony and that always gets me right in the heart. Love it.
Again, playing catch up with past weddings, but their wedding deserves to be enjoyed. Leave them some love!
So here’s the truth. I LOVE being a photographer. I cannot imagine anything else that would bring me the happiness, for a career, as making my living with my camera…. but the digital life (blogging, Twitter, Facebook… and on and on) takes a toll. You spend hours updating feeds, keeping things going and over the years, trying to keep up with the ever expanding universe of social media and digital life, one tends to get tired and lazy. I’m here to admit I got lazy. Time to rectify that… so there are going to be NUMEROUS posts catching up from the past.
So meet Sean and Meridith. Two truly amazing and talented people who deserve their time in the spotlight. I hate to admit it, but we’re just over a month from their two year anniversary and while I posted some of their stuff on my Facebook page, I’d gotten lazy about blogging. My apologies to the bride and groom.
So enjoy what was a seriously gorgeous, badass September wedding. I’d love to go back and spend another day photographing these two. They gave me unlimited access to their lives that day and the result was a collection of photos that I LOVE!
